Open Book Discussion will gather next on Tuesday, March 7, at 7 p.m. in the Parlor or Library to discuss Pat Conroy’s The Water is Wide: A Memoir. Newsweek calls this a “miraculous” human drama, based on a true story. The novel centers around a nearly deserted, beautiful island near South Carolina. As waste from industry threatens the island inhabitants’ existence, one man gives a year of his life to the island and teaching its people. As always, bring a friend and join us for a great discussion.
