Family Ministries Summer Calendar
At Second, our teachers and staff care for and nurture our littlest ones with love and respect because they are valued members of the community. We do our best to create an atmosphere where children know they are loved as a unique child of God and we strive to share that message with them through discussions, service events, stories, games, crafts, and other activities. Children have a place here. Come and share the fun and nurturing experience of God’s transforming love with us!
9 a.m. Sundays – Each week, children’s Sunday School begins with all ages meeting in Westminster Hall where we will do an activity or game together.
Following that, children will head up to their regular Sunday School classrooms to discuss their lesson and how they can relate to it and each other. Finally, we will reinforce what they have learned through some hands-on creative projects. Children may be picked up in their classrooms on the third floor. Signs indicate the various room locations.
During the 10:15 a.m. Sunday Service…
Godly Play, for children ages 4-7 (1st grade) is in room 303 each week. It begins after the Celebration of the Young Church.
Worship Alive!, for children 2nd-5th grade, meets the second, third, and fourth Sundays of the month. It begins after the Celebration of the Young Church.
Early Christian Awareness is for toddlers in the nursery following the Celebration of the Young Church.
Second offers many opportunities for kids to connect with their faith and with one another outside of a Sunday morning. For many church events, a simultaneous children’s programming option will exist to offer kids age-appropriate activities in an exciting environment. We also have P Squared- a 3rd-5th grade youth group that meets once a month. This group offers fellowship, fun, faith talks, and more!
Second offers many opportunities for families to connect with one another. From Dinners to 8 with whole families to Easter Egg Hunts, and other special events, we strive to create supportive, encouraging environments for children and families alike.
