Kristin serves as the associate pastor. At Second, she facilitates strategic visioning for the church’s ministries, leads small groups, Bible studies, and classes, and provides pastoral leadership to the church’s anti-racism and Matthew 25 work. She is passionate about bringing diverse groups of people together to share stories, build relationships, and engage in the work of justice and collective liberation. She also enjoys preaching and leading creative worship experiences.
Kristin grew up in Western New York. She earned her B.A. from Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. After receiving her M.Div. from McCormick Theological Seminary, she served as a Lilly Resident at First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, MI. Kristin earned her Doctor of Educational Ministry (D.Ed.Min.) from Columbia Theological Seminary in 2022. Her dissertation, Reading for Liberation: Challenging White Supremacy Through Dialogue, Personal Narrative, and Praxis in Women’s Bible Studies, was awarded the John Nelsen Award. She has written curricula for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A)'s “Follow Me: Biblical Practices for Faithful Living” and “Growing in God’s Love: A Story Bible Curriculum.”
In her free time, Kristin enjoys yoga, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She and her partner, Mark Wilkins, live in downtown KC.
