Youth Ministry
We know that the pre-teen and teenage years are, in many ways, the biggest time of transition in life. Kids enter youth ministry in 6th grade and leave after 12th grade as adults. At Second, we support youth and their families through this big transition!
The Youth Ministry is for all students in 6th through 12th grade and provides opportunities to connect with each other and adult mentors. Youth will explore and develop their spiritual lives and share together in all life’s ups and downs.
During the summer, we shift from the weekly rhythm of Sunday programming to events and trips.

School Year Programs
-
Almost every Sunday at 9 a.m., we gather before the worship service for a different themed activity. In the past, we have had Bible study, book club, board games, and more. For Winter 2026, we are trying out a musical theme with a new Youth Handbell Choir! Our first session will be January 11 and will be a mix of age appropriate sacred and secular music.

Sundays from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Most Sunday nights, youth meet for dinner, games, and a spiritual development activity. This is a free program designed to build relationships between youth and provide opportunities to explore the questions they have about faith, identity, community, and purpose.
Whether religious or not, whether members of the church or not, all youth are welcome to attend!
Youth Group will not meet on February 8 (Super Bowl), March 15 (Spring Break), April 5 (Easter), or May 10 (Mother’s Day).
Note: We will be offering a special Sex Ed program January 18-February 15, 2026 which will have a slightly different schedule. Read more about Let’s Talk: A Sex Education Series for Children, Youth, & Parents.

In addition to our weekly programs, we have events throughout the year. These range from going bowling or watching a movie to overnight lock-ins and retreats. Join our email list to learn about upcoming events by emailing our youth director Patrick Landau.
