Easter Sunday FAQs
Where should I park?
Second's parking lot is located on the corner of 55th Street and Brookside Avenue (across from Aixois Bistro). You can use both the upper parking lot near the Trolley Trail and the lower parking lot in front of the church's "Front Porch" (west entrance). The lower parking lot continues on the north side of the building with ADA parking spaces available on both the "Front Porch"/west and north sides of the building. Parking is also available on Oak Street, 55th Street, and other streets throughout the neighborhood.
Where is the Sanctuary entrance?
Second's worship services occur in the main sanctuary, which is located on the second floor. The sanctuary can be accessed via the "Front Porch"/west entrance, which has stairs as well as two ramps. Once inside the building, follow the signs to the sanctuary; stairs and an ADA elevator are both available. The sanctuary can also be accessed via the bell tower on the corner of 55th and Oak Streets. An ADA-entrance is located to the left of the bell tower.
What should I wear?
On Sunday mornings, you'll see people wearing everything from shorts and sandals to their traditional Sunday best. There's no standard attire and we encourage you wear whatever feels most comfortable to you.
Is there a nursery?
We love having children and families in worship. Our littlest community members' singing, crying, dancing, and questions bring life and energy to our congregation. During worship, we have multiple options available for children and families. We encourage each family to choose which option is best for them.
0-3 years old: Nursery care is available beginning at 9:15 a.m. in the nursery on the second floor. Our nursery is staffed by Nannies of KC and all of the nursery staff is background-checked and trained in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
Are there any programs for children?
4 years old - 3rd grade: Children, ages 4 to 3rd grade, are invited to start with their families in worship. After the children's time, they are invited to attend Godly Play to hear the Easter story and participate in a creative response. Parents can pick up their children in Room 304 (third floor).
4th grade and older: Children. fourth grade and older. are invited to stay in worship on Easter. Worship activity bags are available at the entrances. There is also a children's section with coloring tables and activities located to the left of the front entrance.
What if I need to step out during the service?
Our Family Room is located outside of the doors at the front of the sanctuary with a livestream of the service. This space is available for children who need extra space to wiggle, cry, or play. A changing table is located in the bathroom next to the Family Room.
