As the commission's website explains, the commission's job is to "provide information, resources and opportunities for discussion with the community about Black reparations in Kansas City, Missouri, and facilitate development and implementation of local reparations proposals."

About the Speaker:
Terri Barnes is founder and president of the nonprofit Nia Project, the goal of which is "to champion success for Black girls and women."
