A new group is forming at Second Presbyterian Church called Second Act!
A new group is brewing at Second Presbyterian for those who have done all the things connected to careers and families and who are now ready for a Second Act. We imagine some gatherings that are pure fellowship. We also imagine some gatherings that will delve into topics related to faithful living. To get started, we plan to meet for pure fellowship at the home of Dave and Nicolette Zimmerman.
This first gathering will take place on Saturday, July 11, at 6 p.m.
At the home of Dave and Nicolette Zimmermann (6212 Summit Street, KCMO) Bring an appetizer or dessert and a beverage.
More importantly, bring your curious selves and be ready to visit with other Second Actors.
And who is a Second Actor? The age and stage is loosely defined. We may be people who no longer work to pay the bills, but are still contributing in ways that give purpose. And/or, we may be people who are adjusting to kids who have left the nest, or will be leaving the nest in the next couple of years. And of course, single or coupled folks in this stage group are always welcome.
Our purpose is threefold:
Navigate together as we move through life’s transitions
Find ways to continue to contribute to church and society
Create fellowship with one another.
If you would like to join us on July 11 at 6 p.m., please send a quick email to Carol Are (carolare@ymail.com) before Friday, July 10.
And if you forget to RSVP, come anyway! We want to see you!
